Aged people are one of the most important parts of society requiring special care and assistance. They have lived a long life and seen different hard periods. Still, unfortunately, not all of the older people have a chance to live the rest of their life within own family. Azerbaijan has a range of social institutions of different profile for the aged population. One of them is the Boarding House for War and Labor Veterans in Bilgah settlement. On March 11, with the initiative of Azercell the opening ceremony of the renovated venue hall took place at this foundation. There are all necessary conditions created for effective and entertaining leisure time of residents in the newly renovated room. The room was provided with the latest DVD equipment and movie collection. In addition, the room was also equipped with modern musical equipment for music fans.
In his speech at the opening ceremony, the Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Protection Natig Mammadov expressed his gratitude to Azercell Telecom for creating favorable environment for leisure and recreational activities of the aged people in this renovated room.
CEO of Azercell Telecom Chiril Gaburici valued the project as the sign of attention and importance the Company attaches to the aged people: "Older people are valuable members of our families and of the society as a whole. This project is a clear reflection of Azercell’s attention to the older people and their efforts in our past. We hope residents will enjoy spending time in this room and will get a great pleasure watching movies that we collected for them with special care. "
The director of the boarding house Gatiba Asadova, as well as the residents have also expressed their appreciation to Azercell Telecom for the attention and care. The event ended with a concert program performed by a pop singer and children's dance ensemble.
Azercell, has always paid special importance to corporate social responsibility, implementing tens of tangible social projects. The majority of these projects are aimed at supporting people in need of special care and protection. Azercell initiated and supported the operation of Mobile Eye and Mobile Dental Clinics that treat children from orphanages and low-income families.
