Azercell’s Barama Center continues to support young startups

Barama Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center of Azercell Telecom continues to provide its support towards young startups to help them realize their projects successfully and expand their world outlook. Under the project “Breakfast with mentors” launched in 2017, young startups regularly meet with distinguished entrepreneurs, leading successful businesses. This time, the meeting was held  with Kamran Samadli, expert in marketing, strategy, event management and business development, as well as Seedstars Middle East and Northern Africa Regional Manager, leading the expansion of the company in the region.

The meetings organized by Barama Center on a monthly basis discuss topical issues, current projects of the startups and give beneficial advice for future success. Managing business, finding investors and partners, boosting sales, expanding networking and etc. are among the main topics of discussion during the meetings.

Barama Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center was founded in 2009 by Azercell to support entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan. The Center generally supports IT projects and emerging startups operating in this industry and helps them to become independently prosperous business. Notably, over nine years of its activity the Center contributed to the growth of more than 70 startups, 45 of which managed to build successful business.

The leader of the mobile communication industry, the largest taxpayer and the biggest investor of the non-oil sector of Azerbaijan Azercell Telecom LLC was founded in 1996. With 48% share of Azerbaijan’s mobile telecom market Azercell’s network covers 80% of the territory (excluding 20% of the occupied territories) and 99,8% of population of the country. Currently, 4,5 million subscribers choose Azercell services. Azercell has pioneered an important number of innovations in Azerbaijan, including GSM technology, advance payment system, mobile internet services, Metro coverage, 24/7 call centre service, 7 day/week Front Office service, M2M services, one-stop-shopping approach Azercell Express offices, Online Customer Care and Social Media Customer Care services, Mobile Customer Care office, mobile e-signature service “ASAN Imza” etc. Azercell deployed first 4G – LTE services in Azerbaijan in 2012. According to the results of mobile network quality surveys of Global Wireless Solutions company and international systems specialized in wireless coverage mapping such as “Opensignal” and “Testmy.net”, Azercell’s network demonstrated the best results among the mobile operators of Azerbaijan.
