Company CEO Vahid Mursaliyev and over 100 Azercell employees & corporate subscribers have joined the marathon.
Baku Marathon – 2018 with its major goal of promoting sports and healthy lifestyle in the country was successfully held on May 13th under the auspice of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the exclusive partnership of Azercell Telecom LLC. Bringing together around 18,000 participants, Baku Marathon – 2018 with the motto “Win the wind” started at the National Flag Square and ran 21 kilometers all the way to the Baku Olympic Stadium. The Haydar Aliyev Foundation’s vice-president Leyla Aliyeva and Arzu Aliyeva also took part in the race along with a number of local and foreign citizens.
The Award ceremony took place at Baku Olympic Stadium. Ukrainian citizen Igor Olefirenko won the men`s event, followed by Iranian Muhammad Jafar Muradi and Turkish citizen Omer Alkanoglu. Whereas in the women`s event, Turkish citizen Celik Fatime became the winner, while Valentina Poltavska from Ukraine ranked the second, and Russian Anastasia Petrova came the third.
Among the runners who raced in branded purple t-shirts of Azercell, exclusive partner of the marathon, top three finish line crossers, namely Namig Asadov, Samir Pashayev and Tural Sadikhli received valuable gifts from the company.
On the eve of the Baku Marathon – 2018, Azercell Telecom have enhanced the network capacity in the areas of the event by means of additional facilities in order to ensure flawless communication throughout the entire route of the marathon.
It should be noted, that nearly 40 Azercell employees led by the CEO of the company Vahid Mursaliyev, as well as over 60 corporate clients of Azercell took part in the race
Remarkably, Azercell Telecom also acted as the main partner of Gandja Marathon held in September 2017.
