Can I read books without an internet connection?

Yes, Bookmate allows you to read or listen to your favourite books both online and offline. In most cases, you can take advantage of this feature as long as your subscription is active. Some books are available free of charge and you can read or listen to them even after your subscription expires.

Reading Bookmate books offline on Android devices

1. Open the Bookmate app.
2. Press the ‘Profile’ icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen.
3. On the next screen, press the icon with three dots in the top right-hand corner.
4. Select Settings’ from the menu and scroll down to ‘Reading Settings’.
5. In the menu, select the ‘Download book’ option. Select the relevant option here.

Reading Bookmate books offline on iOS devices

1. Open the Bookmate app.
2. All your books are located in the ‘Read’ and ‘Read later’ sections. 
3. Wait for the app to synchronize the books on your device. They are saved in the device’s memory.
4. Once synchronization is complete, you can read all the books in the ‘Read’ and ‘Read later’ sections offline.
