GPRS/EDGE
GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) – packet oriented mobile data transferring technology that enables you to send and receive data via your mobile at higher speed in comparison with GSM standard voice channel (9,6 kbps).
Azercell network configuration ensures GPRS with the speed of up to 48 kbps.
GPRS data transfer is typically charged per kilo or megabyte of traffic transferred, while data communication via traditional voice channel is billed per minute of connection time, regardless of whether you actually are using the capacity or you are in an idle state.
With GPRS you can:
- get access to Internet
- use email
- make or receive calls while data transfer process
- use MMS, WAP and other applications
- download music, pictures, games, etc.

- For GəncSim subscribers: 0.20 AZN per 1 MB;
- For other subscribers: 0.40 AZN per 1 MB
Charging interval — 10 KB.
EDGE (Enhanced Data Rates for GSM Evolution) is a technology allowing faster data transfer in GSM network.
Azercell network configuration ensures EDGE with the speed of up to 236 kbps.
EDGE offers the same services as GPRS. The only difference is the data transferring speed.
There is no need for additional settings to use EDGE – your phone will select it automatically where EDGE coverage is available.
GPRS/EDGE services are available for all Azercell subscribers. Now the most mobile phone models support GPRS/EDGE. Just set up the settings and go online.
