The services of Azercell Telecom J.V. — that started functioning as a mobile telecommunications provider on December 1996 — now are available to 99.7% of the population and 80% of the republic’s territory (excluding occupied territories) is under Azercell’s coverage area.

As of 2000 all of Baku’s subway stations are also covered with network.

To make roaming service available for subscribers Azercell signed special agreements on international roaming with more than 397 operators in 152 countries worldwide.

Thanks to constant efforts made to broaden coverage area and roaming network Azercell subscribers can always be everywhere in touch.
